Terms and Conditions

Reservation Procedure
A deposit of $300 to $600 (depending on tour packages) per person is required in order to request services. Failure to meet the deposit requirement will result in release of reservation. After a reservation is made, East Greets West (hereafter called EGW) will send you the invoice including tour acknowledgment, preliminary information, the tour price, the deposit you paid, and the balance due date. The balance of final payment is due 30-60 days prior to departure. Reservation made within 30 days prior to departure requires full payment at the time of booking.

Payment
Payment can be made by major credit card, check, money order or wire transfer for regular tours. If you wish to pay by credit card, please fax us the authorization form with your card hold's name, card number, expiration date and credit card mailing address. Check payment should be made payable to East Greets West For promotional and customized tours, no credit card is accepted.

Late Bookings
A late booking fee of $150 per person will apply to bookings received within 30 days prior to departure date of the tour.

Change Fees
A fee of $150 per change plus air ticket change fee imposed by airlines will apply to any changes made after the booking has been confirmed and a deposit has been received.

Cancellations
Full refund, less US$200 administrative fee per person for any cancellations received in writing up to 60 days prior to departure. Therefore, the following cancellation charges will apply:

59 -30 days prior to departure: $400 per person.

29-8 days prior to departure: $700 per person.

(Yangtze River program only): $1200 per person

7-1 days prior to departure: 50% of tour price per person.

On or after departure date: 100% of tour price per person.

Air fares are non-refundable once a ticket is issued and subject to airlines' rules and regulations.

Refunds
Refunds will not be made for complimentary accommodations and services provided by airlines. Refunds will not be made if passengers change hotels and services en-route. Tour features or services are not refundable once the trip is made. Travel insurance cost and visa handling fee is non-refundable.

Insurance
We strongly suggest you purchase travel insurance, including trip cancellation, trip interruption, accident, health and baggage. This is for your own protection. EGW provides comprehensive travel protection plan to safeguard and ensure your peace of mind. Please check details of our Travel Insurance Plan.

Tour Price
Tour price includes land arrangement and air transportation costs as a package. Tour price is quoted in US dollars and based on tariffs and rates of exchange between US dollars and foreign currencies in effect from time to time. Air transportation is via selected airlines.
All prices are subject to change without notice. United States departure, airport taxes and Customs fees in effect at time of ticketing and all foreign airport taxes are not included.
All additional expenses including hotel accommodations, meals and transportation caused by sickness, weather, strikes, wars, civil disturbance, quarantines, alterations in ship, air or railroad services or by any other factor beyond EGW's control are the responsibility of the passengers and will be collected on the spot.

Air Transportation
Air transportation is via selected airlines. All fares and fare rules are subject to change by the airline. Any fare increase resulted from such changes will be added to the tour price and be borne by the passenger.
Air transportation within China is provided by the domestic Chinese carriers. Air fares are subject to change and any increase in fare will be added to the tour price and be borne by the passenger.

Baggage
Free airline baggage allowance for the transpacific flight is 2 pieces per person with combined maximum linear dimensions of 107", for the domestic flight within China is 1 bag with no more than 44 pounds. We recommend for efficient travel that each passenger travel with only one suitcase and one carry-on bag. Excessive number, size, or weight of luggage may result in your inconvenience and/or surcharge.

Hotel Accommodations
Accommodations are provided at First Class, Superior First Class, Deluxe properties with private bath and air conditioning (when available). In locations where tourism is not well developed, best available properties are featured. Costs are based on two people sharing a twin-bedded room. For persons requiring a single room, the supplemental cost is shown. Right is reserved to substitute hotels for those specified in the itinerary whenever necessary.

Meals
As specified in the itinerary. Voluntary non-usage of meal coupons are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

Transfers and Sightseeing
All transfers and sightseeing are by motor coach, car or other conveyance. Transfers to and from airports and hotels will be provided only for tour members utilizing the airspace reserved for the group. Sightseeing tours are as described in the tour itineraries. Sightseeing is restricted to the sightseeing points covered by the tour package price. Additional sightseeing points not covered in the tour package price will incur extra charges on the spot.
Arrangements for the itinerary are solely at the discretion of the local representative, who controls the scheduling of sightseeing and transportation arrangements. EGW has no control over the itinerary and cannot be held responsible for changes.
Passengers must provide their own transfers to and from the specified hotel when arriving and / or departing on flights other than the ones specified by EGW for the specific itinerary.

Tips and Taxes
Hotel taxes are included in the land cost. Airport departure taxes, China domestic airport taxes and any additional city development / construction fees imposed by the local government are not included in the tour price and will be collected from each passenger before departure at each airport.
Tips to restaurant and hotel waiters, chambermaids and porters are not included. The customary end-of-the-tour gratuity to tour managers and tips to local guides and drivers are not included.

Tour Price Exclude
Meals not specified in the itinerary, optional tours, airport taxes, charges for passports, visas, expenses on the United States mainland, laundry, liquor, excess baggage charges, usage of telephones, personal, health or baggage insurance, items of personal nature and items not specifically listed as included.

Important Notice
EGW reserves the right to cancel any tour when the number of participants fall below ten people, a minimum group requirement. The right is reserved to decline acceptance or retention of any person as a tour participant whose health condition makes him/her physically unfit for long trips due to mental illness, heart diseases, serious chronic or contagious illness, physical handicaps, pregnancy, senility or infirmity. In such cases, a full or equitable amount will be refunded, but not to exceed the amount paid by the passenger.

Responsibilities
East Greets West acts only as agent in making arrangements for transportation, hotel accommodations and other travel services, and does not assume any liability for any injury, loss, damage, accident, delay or inconvenience which may be occasioned for any reason by the suppliers or other companies engaged in conveying or accommodating tour members. EGW shall not be liable for, and tour members hereby waive any claim against EGW for any acts, omissions, promises and failures of performance by any airline, cruise line, ground operator, other transportation company, hotel or any third party providing services to the tour. All tour itineraries, performance, and prices may be affected by sickness, weather, strikes, wars, civil disturbance, quarantines, alterations in ship, air or railroad services or by other causes. EGW reserves the right to withdraw an announced tour, substitute hotels, and to make such alterations in the itinerary as may be necessary or desirable for the proper carrying out of the tour. EGW strongly suggests you purchase travel insurance for your own protection.
Tour prices are subject to change. East Greets West reserves the right to adjust the listed price at any time for any reason. However, we do not adjust prices once the tour has been confirmed and deposit has been made.
